Catering Section
The Catering Section was the largest of the Lottas' areas of operation. Before the wars the Lottas took care of catering at Civil Guard events. Funds were gathered with the help of canteens and restaurants. These funds were used for canteen equipment and training of Lottas to take care of large-scale catering. During the Winter War the Lottas baked over 100 000 kilos of bread per day. During the war years the Lottas provided catering for field hospitals, ambulance trains and war zone hospitals. The Lotta Svärd organization also took care of catering in places where fortification work was taking place.

Bread baked by the Lottas was sent to the front in square crates to avoid waste space.
The Lottas cooked food with a Finnish M/29 (Model 1929) field kitchen.
