our collections
Syväranta Lotta Museum ís a preserver of objects, photographs and archive material. In 2008 there were approximately 6000 objects, 12 000 photographs and up to 60 meters of shelves of archive material in the collection. Most of the archive material is related to the Lottas, and in addition the collection includes material of cultural history touching the subject. The collection also includes some works of art. A large collection of ink and pencil drawings and graphic art by Helmi Kuusi is worth a separate mention.

In 2008 Syväranta Lotta Museum received separate paper and photograph archives. New equipment was installed in rooms in order to ensure perfect conditions for the preservation of archive material. The aim is to keep the air humidity of each room at 40 and 50 RH % and temperature at 18 degrees Celsius. Proper archive rooms are a significant landmark in view of our museum's activities. Preservation of our collections for the future generations as well can now be better guaranteed.

The museum's collection is methodically added to with the help of donations. In addition to the object itself, we find it important to document its history. If you possess objects that you would like to donate to our museum's collection, please contact our staff. We will gladly tell you more of our preservation work.
